Star Wars Clone Wars R2-D2 Action Figure This instant

In my experience with Star Wars figures, this is the best R2 toy that I have had so far. He has a periscope, a rotating head, two auxiliary arms that come out of his front, a tow cable from the back, two removable rocket boosters, and a removable third leg. This figure is pretty much awesome. Beats any other R2 that I've owned(and I've owned quite a few).Get more detail about Star Wars Clone Wars R2-D2 Action Figure.

Captain Rex with Firing Missile Launcher - Star Wars: The Clone Wars Immediately

วันศุกร์ที่ 8 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2553

I suppose collectors are thrilled with this, but it's not really a toy, like its $7 counterparts. It is small, about the size of your hand, and has many tiny parts that break easily. I wish it was labeled a "figurine" or "small collectible," because it's not really a toy for kids at all. Highly disappointing.Get more detail about Captain Rex with Firing Missile Launcher - Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Hasbro Star Wars Transformers - Boba Fett Slave 1 Best Quality

With Christmas advancing upon us like impending doom, once again we jettison all those pesky thoughts of recycling, carbon footprints and being sensible with money out of our minds and begin the annual, increasingly grim farce that is Christmas. Yes, you too can line up in supermarkets with more food than you could hope to eat in a month (all for one day) whilst listening to "Feed the World". You too can continue the pointless, hollow sham of sending Christmas cards to everyone you know for no reason at all. And yes, you too can continue the obscene tradition of spending more and more money on gifts, cursing yourself for giving into the hype - yet again - safe in the knowledge that you'll be dancing to the same tune like a tinseled up automaton in 12 months time.

So with that in mind, The Curmudgeon brings you all a seasonal warning; if you're buying gifts for kids, BE CAREFUL what you buy. In this day and age of information at our fingertips, there really is no excuse for buying bad toys. A quick Google search will give you all the advice on what to buy, as well as "reviews" from the usual idiots on Amazon who seem to think their opinions actually count for something, (your humble narrator obviously excluded). But you just know some non-clued up granny or well meaning but dumb mother is going to shell out hard earned money to earn their child's love, only to see little Timmy's excited, hopeful face fall as they rip open that carefully wrapped parcel and discover what is, essentially, a steaming festive turd.

We're talking jigsaw puzzles of animals. We're talking those creepy Marvel figures with the dopey smiling faces and glassy eyes. We're talking bargain bin merchandise of movies no-one liked (The Mummy 3 action figures, anyone?) And yes, we're talking this atrocity - the Transformers version of Boba Fett.

It's quite a perverse skill, I suppose; take two undoubtedly very cool things - Boba Fett and Transformers - and combine the two to make something so wretched it deserves to be placed on top of every crackling yuletide log under the fireplace. An obvious example of "well, kids like Star Wars. And kids like Transformers. Isn't there a way we can combine the two?" Answer being - no. No you can't. Because, unlike adults, kids aren't stupid about this sort of thing. No kid in it's right mind is going to accept the fact that BOBA FETT TRANSFORMS INTO HIS SPACE SHIP.

Believe it or not, kids don't just take thing with wheels and run them up the furniture making "brrrrm" noises. They create stories based on what they know and have seen on TV. And how the hell does a kid fathom out Boba Fett turning into his damn ship?? I'm not saying kids are all "that's not considered canon" nerds (that comes later) but give them some credit.

Taking two famous brands and forcing them together could, I suppose, work. If done well. With a little care and attention to detail, the merging of two vastly different entities could perhaps bring something new and exciting for kids to play with.

But LOOK at the picture of Boba Fett here. Seriously, look at it. Is Boba pregnant? Is he wearing a tracksuit? Does he have Jabba's lunch stuffed up his jacket? And why does he have a hunchback? One of the most iconic, cool characters in the entire Star Wars universe suddenly morphed into a spindly-armed blue and grey Sumo wrestler. Gee.. thanks Hasbro.

Someone, somewhere, is buying this awful toy, and some kid, somewhere, is pretending to like it. Don't let it be you. Get more detail about Hasbro Star Wars Transformers - Boba Fett Slave 1.

Star Wars X-Wing Fighter Vehicle with Luke Skywalker Figure Buy Now

I got this for my 5 year old nephew who is a huge Star Wars fan. He totally loved it...and it was huge. It is not a small X-wing by any means and seems very solidly built. The first thing my nephew did was to take out Luke and to turn him upside down..."He's training." he said. I highly recommend this toy.Get more detail about Star Wars X-Wing Fighter Vehicle with Luke Skywalker Figure.

Star Wars Indoor Flying RC - REPUBLIC GUNSHIP Order Now

วันพุธที่ 6 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2553

This toy was not the lego set I expected. The parts were very tiny and not at all recognizable to easily put together. 4 adults had a very difficult time trying to put it together. Needless to say we were all disappointed.Get more detail about Star Wars Indoor Flying RC - REPUBLIC GUNSHIP.

Star Wars Clone Wars Star fighter Vehicle - Republic Fighter Tank Decide Now

I have two small sons who are huge Star Wars fans. This was purchased by them with their pooled allowance money. A big hit was the cardboard background included in the package so be careful when opening the box! This is played with all the time even if the vehicle itself isn't in constant play.

Please note that this Republic vehicle does not come with any figures. It does open to allow a figure to man the fighter plane and it has shooting missiles. This is a cool feature as it allows the boys to attack Jedi figures they have painstakingly set up. It has survived mid-air crashes so it's sturdy.

My boys prefer playing with the driving vehicles the most but do use planes on occasion. The least favorite are the pods so don't waste your money on them. We got it on sale so overall, it was worth the price.

Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter Right now

วันอังคารที่ 5 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2553

We purchased several Clone Wars vehicles and action figures for our 2 boys aged 6 and 8 1/2. Obi-Wan's Starfighter and the Torrent Starfighter are the sturdiest. The only issue we have really had with Obi-Wan's is the cockpit hatch popping off every time my 6 yr old tries to put a guy inside. This can be frustrating for a parent constantly being interrupted to reattach it. And in the near future the thing is just going to be so worn from the constant on and off again that it is just not gonna go back on. The spring-open wings are made of thin plastic and the button you push to open them requires quite a bit of applied force. This line of Clone Wars toys is marketed for children aged 4 yrs and up. I have to totally disagree with that!! I was really looking forward to some sturdy toys for my boys and this stuff did NOT deliver!! The Walker is CRAP and the V-Wing is definitely inappropriate for a 4 yr old (my 6 yr old is too rough for it). And just so you know the action figures are ALL flimsy. Their hands come off and are lost and they are weak, flimsy plastic... not durable. Get more detail about Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter.

Lowest Price Star Wars Clone Wars Animated Action Figure No. 17 Destroyer Droid

Compared to this version, the old Legacy destroyer is a wimp. This guy is taller, wider and a lot more imposing. It feels a lot more sturdy and substantial too. The articulation of the arms is great, and while the legs only bend at the ball, they maintain that crab-like pose without sacrificing stability. The legacy version tends to fall over if the legs are too inverted.

The CLONE WARS version misses the toggle on the back that makes it look like its in rapid fire mode, but it does have the "spring open" ability. That said, the novelty of both of these wears off pretty fast and the kids usually dont bother with either any more.

The missiles though are very impressive. They're removable, fire easier, fly further and with more accuracy than of the other CLONE WARS missile accessories.

Overall, this is probably the best destroyer droid out there, but we're all looking forward to the one that will roll up and spin away. Keep at it Hasbro.

Low Price Star Wars Battle Packs – The Hunt for Grievous

วันจันทร์ที่ 4 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2553

I stumbled upon this set at a local Target and was suprised it was re-released. All ARC troopers are great but the heavy gunner and captain are the best of the two. I was disappointed with the lesser three ARC's articulation and lack thereof. The three ARCs don't move at the knees and their elbow joints are swivels, which means they can't hold their guns up very well without looking awkward. Their head joints are also a swivel, not a ball joint. Accessories are good and plentiful and the set looks extra cool with a republic gunship. Save Star Wars 3.75" New Millennium Falcon

My son is 12yrs old and a huge Star Wars Fan. The ship is really large, maybe too large. It is more like a base station in the aspect of play since he is not likely to pick this thing up and maneuver around the house with it and fire the multiple missiles at me or other things. The escape pod works well for that and comes equipped with its own missiles to torture me with. The feet (landing Gear) fall off easily when the ship is moved or dragged which will be another deterrent from moving the ship around. The interior is the best option of the whole thing and the lights and sounds are excellent and very loud. My son has had a lot of joy with this since opening it on Christmas. I consider this a great addition to his collection and i think he would agree. I also bought him a Luke Shywalker and R2-D2 figure since these voices are included in the sound features.Get more detail about Star Wars 3.75" New Millennium Falcon.

Discount Star Wars Legacy Collection: Wedge Antilles X-Wing Starfighter

วันอาทิตย์ที่ 3 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2553

This one is my third X-Wing from this big mold (First one was the electronic FX version).
Over the years, these toys have gotten better and better.

Some of the key features of this toy:
- Realistic paint application. This version features very accurate paint and weathering applications, which match with those of the actual model of Red 2. Previous versions like Red Leader and Electronic FX featured less paint (the FX was mostly adorned with very nice stickers... but not painted)
- New accessories: This toy comes with two ladders, the pilot and an R2 unit. Note that the ladders are placed wrong in the package and pictures: The big yellow ladder is for maintenance and handling the astromech unit, so it must be placed on the port (left) side of the ship, near the engines (this way, the railing, would prevent the operator to fall to the left of the ladder). The shorter red, straight ladder is the one used by the pilots to gain access to the cockpit.
Granted, these accessories are not as cool as the swamp beast + tons of moss + lots of boxes that the Dagobah Luke X-Wing came with, but they are indeed quite cool and complement the ship.
- New Wedge Antilles! I've had the first Wedge from the POTF2 Cinema Scenes, the second Wedge that was an exclusive, and this third Wedge. This one is the best, since it features a different mold from other pilots (mainly because it uses pieces from other pilots and not the whole body from one other pilot).
- New R2 unit. I know that many don't know where this unit came from, but it's the one in the model used for the film.

The other advantage about this toy is that it's a new release and is comparatively cheaper than the other older ones on the market right now.
I missed the Red Leader X-Wing Star Wars Exclusive Saga New Hope Red Leader X-wing Fighter, which came with an inaccurate color scheme, a generic pilot figure with a non-removable molded helmet painted as Red Leader and NO astromech droid.
But now, I could easily get one of these and custom paint it as Red One and use the newer figures released as a Battle Pack Hasbro Star Wars Battle Pack - Scramble on Yavin, and end up with a much more accurate rendition of Red One. Cheapest Hasbro Star Wars Clone Wars - AT-TE Assault Squad

I got this at target for my grandson because he was waiting for a month to get it to use on his AT-TE. He says that the troopers are awesome and thinks that the standard clone troops look like green company troops fron the clone wars episode cloak of darkness and that the gunner kind of looks like a clone pilot. There are marks that resemble those on the trooper that comes with the AT-TE on their shoulders.Get more detail about Hasbro Star Wars Clone Wars - AT-TE Assault Squad.
