I am glad to finally have an Anakin that looks like Anakin. If they would have sculpted the head like this intially I can only imagine how much happier Star Wars fans would have been. Anakin Skywalker's story is in large part the focus of all six Star Wars movies and the previous sculpt did not do him justice. This figure has a very nice paint job and comes with several unique items. However, the blaster rifle and rocket he comes with are not that durable. He also cannot hold either of them very well. well i guess if you never played with transformers as a kid you don't understand how they work. you really have to pop them hard into place. if you don't, it WILL fall apart. and you have to push HARD to get them to make certain positions, etc. i can see how those not familiar might either be concerned if they push too hard it will break or think they have it locked in place but they really don't. it may take some tinkering to get it right if you aren't very familiar with the concept.

otherwise, for us (both my husband and i loved transformers as a kid and star wars) this was lots of fun to put together! and my son has gotten HOURS of play and enjoyment. my only complaint is that i can't readily find replacement gun parts. my son took the falcon over to a friends where there was a 2 year old- who shot it and lost the parts. :(

Argyus here sports a completely new look ,with a helmet which is removable , he also carries heavy armament a bazooka blaster and a hand blaster. His armor is like a clone troopers with the addition of a left shoulder guard that is enlarged for protection and tattooed with beautiful white decoration. Following tradition the armor and helmet are blue. The helmet resembles a more realistic removable version of the kind of thing you would see in the museum of ancient Greek hoplite armor . The only difference is that this is redesigned to fit into the Star Wars Universe and it does this beautifull. I highly recomend this figure for your collection. I purchased this for my son when he was 10yo. He is now 11yo and takes it with him on all his road trips to play in the motels. It's compact, so he can take it with him. He loves the action,a nd it's great on a rainy day to let some of his energy out. Educational by teaching reflexes and hand eye coordination. Very good toy! Worth every penny of it! :)

I and my kids own many a light saber including the very cool Star Wars Clone Wars Ultimate Light Saber. But after buying these I can never go back. I picked up a "luke" at a convention for a reasonable price and knew I had to get another. I chose the "Vader" Ep. IV version. Let me tell you a little bit about this "collectable" "toy".

Hilt - Well this isn't your $6, $20 or even $30 light saber. This is an all metal, high quality rubber and authentic details hilt. There is something extremely satisfying about grabbing it and feeling that weight and collectable quality that makes it feel not like a toy. It's as close to the movie version as you can get and it is not fat clunky plastic. On a side note this one is almost twice as heavy as the "Luke" version which makes it feel even more "real"

Blade - Oh, the blade... filled with sequentially lit, high intensity LED lights; it is a glorious sight to behold. Flick on the saber and the red blade lights from hilt to top as if extending from the hilt, not all at once like a flashlight like a toy version - same with turning it off. And you know how the toys really only look good in a dark room? Not so here. Even in a well lit room these shine up to a beautiful intensity. That's the difference in the light not being just in the handle but actually all throughout the blade.

Sounds - The sound effects are just awesome. I have seen folks who think they are a bit loud but to me the louder the better. And they are LOUD. Turn it on - Vrooom! Turn it off - Sqreeeech! Not only are there great on and off sounds and the low and steady Sith hum but whacking your buddy will yield several different clashing and screeching sounds. And best of all, a feature that no toy version has, swing it around and via motion sensitive controls it will sound off several swishing and swinging light saber sounds.

Durability - Well it is marketed as a collectable but anyone who has one will tell you that it's of no use to have one if you can't swing it around and bang it a bit. And me, I love to play. So it is a toy in the fact that I have had extended light saber battles with both my kids, taking some care, but generally letting loose (and yes, letting them play with these high-end sabers too) and no damage yet. It works fine and only has the scratches on the outer light tube that you'd expect. The blade has not broken and the electronics still work fine (I've had the Luke for over a year and this Vader for 2 months as of this writing). It still looks and works great. You can always choose to buy one and not whack it around if you want. The sounds and lights make for very movie quality play.

Power - 3 AA batteries and they last a really long time considering all this thing does.

The only downside is price I suppose. But hey save up, or if you're not interested then don't buy. We bought this little guy and haven't had any major issues getting him to work. Had an initial problem getting the remote and R2 to link together. Solved that by turning both off, then turning R2 on, followed by the remote. My son, 7, really likes this robot and gave him the 5 stars. (I defer to him, since he is the child and owner.) We have a number of other robots (D-Rex, for example) that cost far more money. They are, as you might expect, more "show-y." But this little guy is cute, makes all the right noises from the movie and moves around at quite a clip.
